  1. you don't actually need to pick up the broom and clean the roads...all that is required is that you dump your garbage in the right place..u should become aware that munching those chips and then throwing the packet on road is no less than crime.
and i don't think it takes much time.
our PM is a role model of many people in India, and since he is stressing on Swachh Bharat Campaign so much, so people are following him enthusiastically.
So it all depends on us now ..whthr this campaign will be successful or not..the direction that we all needed is given to us by our PM.

  2. The SUCCESS of this campaign ''Swachh Bharat" only depends upon people of India. It depends on us whether we take it seriously or not. From my opinion if someone takes initiative for good reason we must support it rather doing nitpicking. PM is a supervisor who is showing us correct way now its our will to follow him or not. No doubt if we want our country's growth we will follow him.

    1. govt must have to include a cleaning program in whole education carriculam.
2.now in pamchayat as there is regular meeting raegarding panchayat development.there is must an agenda of cleaning programme of panchayat.

  5. Friends, I Respect All Your Views
But, its my personal observation that...
On 2nd October, people participated in this campaign...
    and, on the next day....
    Same Thing Happened
People were throwing packets of chips on the road.
    some were peeking... etc.

    Change Should Come From Within...
It Is Not MODI Who Is Only Responsible...
    Its Public Responsibility
We can Either Make This Campaign A Successful One,Or ............

  6. This discussion itself gives a pessimistic attitude towards the Campaign. It is the people of India who need to make this campaign a success. The campaign was just an initiative taken by our PM to emphasize his thinking towards the matter. It is a known fact that the public figure would not come on to the street every day to clean up the streets, and again it is not their duty to clean up the streets. We have employed workers who need to care for the streets, but what people need to do is understand their part of the duty.

It is the common man who throws garbage on the streets, who should have discarded the same on a dustbin ideally. Isn’t that the responsibility of every Indian citizen to perform their duties and responsibilities correctly before pointing fingers on the government or anyone else? If the common man can come up and realize their own responsibilities, then it would itself take this mission to a 90percent success rate.

PM has done the best that he can do. We cannot expect him to come on the streets with a broom daily to get people out of their couch and make city clean. He is doing his part of the duties as a responsible citizen and as a person of authority has shown the way to walk on for the others. Now, it is the duty of the public to realize their part of the responsibilities and support and make this mission a success.

PM could have extended his good efforts in this direction by making some stringent rules and regulations to keep the neighbourhood and society clean. Indians being nurtured on a stubborn platform, is difficult to get them on the tracks without a legal or monetary check. This could have given an assurance to keep the common man on the right track. So, provided we can have some regulations to keep the common man on to the track of cleanliness regime, we can have an assured success of the Swachh Bharat Campaign.

  7. Most people of India are not happy because they have lot of problems in their life like unemployment, inflation etc. If a person is not happy why will he think of country? Also system is not developed. Suppose I want to through garbage in dustbin instead of road but there is not nearby place to throw garbage. System needs to be developed. First we have to make people of India happy then only we can request them to do something.

  8. ACCORDING TO ME ATTITUDE IS IMPORTANT MORE THAN MOVEMENT.IF EVERYBODY REALIZE THEIR RESPONSIBILITY NO NEED TO DO MOVEMENT N HOW MANY DAYS WILL RUN MOVEMENT? IT IS NOT ONLY GOVT RESPONSIBILITY IT IS PUBLIC RESPONSIBILITY ONLY PUBLIC MAKE THIS CAMPAIGN SUCCESSFUL.

  9. It is indeed a sole responsibility of an individual to keep India clean ... Everything happens with a sincere start ...if we really think that it is a good idea to follow wat pm modi has initiated then we must bring it by being an example to our neighbourhood cos it is always true as per the saying "action speaks louder than words".

  10. We all appreciated the initiative which PM Modi made on Mahatma Gandhi's Jayanti by cleaning the street of our Capital. But, such initiatives were made and are carried on by the generations to come. What we need to realize is that it is just an effort which we all are supposed to make as the citizen of this country to keep our country clean.
Having said that, I wouldn't hold back the responsibility of the government in this context. When i compare my country with west, I admit that governments overseas have made stringent rules to keep their respective country clean.
As per the Survey conducted in 2010 comparing different states in India in terms of cleanliness, Chandigarh stood first. Chandigarh stood first because it understands the importance of cleanliness and hygiene. If we can make one state clean then we can built other Chandigarhs' through out the country.
At the end, I would like to conclude by saying that citizen of India and government should join hands and should work out to keep this country clean. It just requires a continuous and consistent approach in achieving it..

  11. In my opinion it is not the first time that an effort has been made to make India clean. The mission of PM Modi is a lot bigger than preventing littering by a common man or to pick up broom on one fine day to clean our localities.

The scale of open defecation in India is huge with nearly 60 crore people defecating in open.Since the past mistakes have not been rectified in this campaign,it is highly likely that the sum of over 2 lakh crores kept for this aspect would go waste.

The percentage of money intended to be put towards behavioural change has been halved from previous scheme. This itself shows that the govt is not keen on permanent change in this regard.

When there is lack of accountability for the polluting industries and the pollution control departments have merely become parking space for sycophants there is little a common man can do with his small broom.

There is no doubt that making people understand their responsibility is a major import of this mission but this campaign is actually not suggesting any solution by not focussing on the waste disposal and diverting our attention away from the defunct municipalities of the country.

  12. Narendra Modi has taken a step of Swachha Bharat and this dream will come true only if all the people of India actively take part in it. They don't need to take a broom and start cleaning the roads rather they should keep the environment next to them clean. We should also try to stop the people who try to cause damage to the environment. Only then will the vision of Swachha Bharat come true.
